Long days...
So it has been almost two weeks since John left...time is definitely not flying by (for me anyways)! John says that he's staying busy with training and keeping up with all his soldiers. Seems like they are spending a lot of time on the range lately - which means LONG days, HOT sun, and no cell service! But, I guess you can't have too much practice! Recently their days have been much longer due to issues with the buses they are being transported on...apparently none of the drivers speak/understand english which has led to buses showing up hours late and frequently getting lost. I think that aspect is really starting to irritate them all! But, on a happier note...the units 4 day pass (October 19-22) has been officially approved!! Which means I get to go see John in less then a month!! I'm SOOOOO excited =) Hope you all are doing well, please continue to keep John and his unit in your prayers!

Deployment Pics...
The following are some pictures I took this morning at the send off of the 883/881 Sapper companies. There were very few dry eyes as families and friends said goodbyes to their loved ones. It was so precious to see children hugging their dads and brothers and showing off the banners and pictures they had made for them. I had expected there to be a feeling of sadness as loved ones gave long hugs and said "I love you"...but instead, there was a strong feeling of PRIDE, Patriotism, and brotherhood as these families watch their loves ones unit together to serve and protect our country. It was a very special moment that words cannot justly describe. I ask that you please keep these soldiers (and especially John) and their families in your prayers!
John and his unit are currently headed off to the airport to fly to Texas for more training before heading into "theater". Please pray for safe travels!

Camouflage
I found this song a couple months ago....I'm almost positive this song was written about John! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do =)
The Plan
Hey! Some of you may be wondering when John will actually be in country. Right now, the plan is for his unit to be in Texas for a month for training. Then they will leave from there and head onto Afghanistan. The "official" send off is this Wednesday morning at their armory. Please pray for safe travels!!
